Selling your house and renting a condo: what changes day to day
More and more homeowners choose to rent a new condo rather than buy again. Here is what that choice changes in practice, and how to plan the move.

No more upkeep
In a house, snow removal, mowing, the roof, the windows and the water heater are yours to handle, in time and in money. In a rental condo, the building’s upkeep is the owner’s job. At ANDAS, a management team is on site to answer your requests.
A simpler everyday life
The building is served by an elevator.
Accessible units are available.
Appliances, air conditioning, hot water and Internet are included: fewer bills and providers to manage.
Parking is indoors, with EV chargers available as an option.
Travel with peace of mind
When you leave for several weeks, there is no empty house to watch. The building has security cameras, sprinklers and a fire alarm, and the management team stays on site.
Everything nearby, on foot
ANDAS is at 425 18th Avenue, in Old Lachine:
The Lachine Market, open year-round, is a one-minute walk.
Lachine Hospital (MUHC) is a few streets away, on 16th Avenue.
The Lachine Canal, its bike paths and the Père-Marquette promenade are 5 minutes away.
Buses 190, 491 and 496 link Notre-Dame Street to Lionel-Groulx metro station.
Choosing the right size
After a house, space matters. Our 2-bedroom (4½) and 3-bedroom (5½) units leave room for a guest room or an office, and the size of each unit is listed on the Plans page. The 9.5-foot ceilings and large windows also give a sense of space you won’t find in a regular apartment.
Planning the move
List the furniture you want to keep, measuring the rooms of your future unit on our floor plans.
Coordinate the sale date of the house with the start of the lease. Your real estate broker can help you line them up.
Visit at different times of day to judge the light and the quiet.
