Rental condo in Lachine: a guide to choosing well

A rental condo has the finish of a new condo, without buying one. Here is how it differs from a regular apartment, what is usually included and the questions to ask before you sign a lease.

What is a rental condo?

A rental condo is a unit in a new building built for rent, with finishes comparable to an owned condo: quartz counters, new appliances, careful soundproofing, an elevator and shared amenities. The difference is simple: one owner manages the whole building, and you rent your unit with a lease, with no down payment and no condo fees.

Rental condo, apartment or owned condo: the differences

  • Rental condo: recent building, high-end finishes, professional management by a single owner. You pay rent, with no property taxes or reserve fund.

  • Regular apartment: often in an older building (plex, walk-up), with inclusions and upkeep that vary widely from one landlord to another.

  • Owned condo: you own your unit. You pay the mortgage, taxes and condo fees, and you handle the upkeep of your unit.

What is usually included

Inclusions vary from one building to the next: compare them line by line, because they change the real cost of a home. At ANDAS, the rent includes:

  • 5 appliances, including a washer and dryer

  • Heat pump air conditioning and heating

  • Hot water

  • Unlimited fibre Internet, up to 1.5 Gbit/s

  • Access to the urban chalet (kitchen, lounge, coworking space) and the rooftop terrace with BBQs

Indoor parking and EV chargers are available as options.

How much does a new rental condo cost in Lachine?

Rent depends mostly on size, floor and inclusions. As an example, here are the starting prices at ANDAS in October 2026:

  • 1 bedroom (3½): from $2,100 per month

  • 2 bedrooms (4½): from $2,275 per month

  • 3 bedrooms (5½): from $3,295 per month

Availability changes often: see the units in real time on the Plans page.
